Pecan Pie Bars

3 cups flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Directions
1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease a 10x15 inch jellyroll pan.  (I don't have that, so I just put in an 11x15 glass casserole dish and put wax paper in the bottom and sides so that it doesn't stick).

2.  In a large bowl, stir together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt.  Cut in 1 cup of butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Sprinkle mixture evenly over the prepared pan, and press in firmly.

3.  Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven.

4.  While the crust is baking, prepare the filling.  In a large bowl mix together the eggs, corn syrup, 3/4 cup white sugar, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 3 Tbsp butter, and vanilla until smooth.  Stir in the chopped pecans.  Spread the filling evenly over the crust as soon as it comes out of the oven.

5.  Bake for 30-40 minutes (shouldn't be jiggly when you shake the pan) in the oven, or until set.  Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into bars.

Makes 3 dozen bars.
***Advise those with teeth issues that they may want to pass these yummies by, because it will take out any of those pesky teeth that are just hanging around.
